Congratulations on this Wild, Weary and Wonderful new Chapter Mama!
My approach to newborn photography is relaxed and timeless: I follow the rhythm of your baby and the heartbeat of your home.
I capture authentic family connection and genuine emotion, focusing on the "Untamed" beauty of your real life- rather than elaborate posing or props, We create lasting memories of candid moments of those first few weeks together.
There's nothing like the magic of natural light, our session will likely centre around the brightest spots in your home—usually near a large window. ( I do bring a couple of lights with me in case we need it )
In the warmer UK months, we can even take the session outdoors to let the natural world be your backdrop.
Sessions usually take around 2 hours, but there no rush on my end, we are allowed a cuppa break, a breath, theres no pressure to hurry. We start wherever the energy is lowest. If your baby is asleep, we do solo portraits. If your darling baby is awake and fussy, we do "The Wrap" (natural holding) with Mum...
We often play white noise to help mimic the womb's environment, keeping the session calm and allowing us to move at the baby’s pace. If they cry, we soothe. If they sleep, we capture the peace. If they are wide awake, we capture those beautiful wandering eyes.
Here are answers to some of the mos common questions we get from clients looking to book their Newborn session"
Why choose a natural Newborn session ? What should I wear? When should I book?
Why the Natural Approach Works for Your Family
physilogical safety
I never "pose" or manipulate your baby. By following their natural movements and anatomy, we eliminate the risks associated with restrictive swaddling or forced positions. Your baby stays exactly as they are meant to be: comfortable and safe.
sanctuary of home
No packing "survival bags" or navigating traffic. I come to you so you can recover in your own space, with your own comforts and snacks within reach. This is especially vital for mothers honouring their physical recovery after birth.
minimal disruption
In a studio, the environment is alien; at home, the smells and sounds are familiar. We work around your baby’s rhythm, if they need a long feed or a nappy change, we don't "pause" the session, we simply document the reality (as long as this is what your family would like)
home-turf advantage
Siblings are far more relaxed in their own playroom than in a sterile studio. This leads to genuine curiosity and tender, unforced interactions rather than "staged" smiles.
timeless authenticity
Instead of a trendy prop that will date, your backdrop is your life. We can capture the nursery you spent months preparing and the home where your child's story actually begins.
authenticity over perfection
Your home does not need to be a 'show-home' to be beautiful. I am not there to document your housework; I am there to document your heart. All we really need is:
A single window: To catch that soft, natural light.A clear bed or sofa: A simple, comfortable spot for you to nestle together.

What should I wear?

Your family is as unique as a snowflake, so please stay true to yourselves. However, if you are looking for a timeless aesthetic, consider:
Neutrals & Earth Tones: Creams, oatmeal, soft greys, and muted olives allow your faces and emotions to take centre stage.
Texture over Prints: Think chunky knits, linen fabrics, and layered muslin. Texture adds depth without being distracting.
Intimacy First: If you prefer a less "dressed up" look, think cosy loungewear or simple basics, I am all for it. I adore authenticity. We can discuss your vision during our consultation.

When should I book?

Most families reach out during their second trimester to secure a provisional date around their due date and avoid disappointment.
As for the session itself, I usually suggest the first two weeks if you want to capture that 'brand new' sleepiness. However, because my approach is natural and un-posed, we aren't bound by the strict 14-day window of traditional studios. If you need a little longer to recover and find your feet, we can capture beautiful, authentic images even when your baby is 4 or 6 weeks old. Your comfort and recovery come first.
If my approach to natural newborn photography resonates with you, I’d love to document your story.
If you’re looking for a session that honours your recovery and your baby’s natural rhythm, I may just be the right fit for you.
I recommend booking your newborn session with as much time in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.
