The day was hosted by the incredible Michelle Mackinley — Community Leader at MIB Norwich, known affectionately as The Fairy Handmother. Michelle is a woman of many gifts: Founder, Palmist, Mentor, Author, Speaker, and Mum — and she poured her whole heart into creating an environment where every single person felt at ease.
What stood out most to me was the thoughtful, child-friendly space Michelle designed. My own little ones put it to the test, diving straight into the cosy corner she had prepared with cushions, colouring pens, toys, and books. It was such a refreshing reminder that women don’t need to choose between motherhood and ambition — we can have both, beautifully woven together.
Though the gathering was small, it was mighty. The quality of the conversations, the passion in the room, and the sense of belonging were contagious. We shared laughter, stories, and ideas — and I had the joy of capturing a few portraits to commemorate the day.
As if that wasn’t enough, each guest left with a beautifully presented goodie bag, a final touch that showed Michelle’s attention to detail and care for her community.
I walked away from MIB Norwich feeling blessed, inspired, and deeply connected.
This is just the beginning, and I know Michelle will continue to lead with warmth, vision, and the kind of energy that makes women feel safe to show up as their whole selves.
