Earlier this spring, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing a personal branding session for Ellisha Soanes – an award-winning Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) specialist and community trailblazer based in Suffolk. Our shoot took place in the stunning Tudor Room of Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich, a space rich with character and history – the perfect backdrop for a woman whose work is deeply rooted in heritage, identity, and powerful storytelling.
From the moment we started shooting, the energy was electric. Ellisha brought along her daughter, who supported her throughout the session and was a fantastic addition to the team. The warmth, connection, and laughter they shared brought an extra depth to the day, and made the entire shoot feel joyful, collaborative, and full of soul.
The theme of the session honoured Ellisha’s dual heritage – English and Caribbean – and her identity as part of the third Windrush generation. From the location to the tone and palette, every detail was chosen to reflect her story: vibrant, feminine, powerful, and grounded in legacy. The vibe? Who is Ellisha Soanes?
Ellisha is an international consultant and worked ins noles such as head of diversity. She’s also a co-director of Aspire Black Suffolk, a nonprofit driving real change through cultural education, and Director of the Prima Donna Festival. Featured in Glamour Magazine as one of the UK’s Top 15 Trailblazing Black Women, Ellisha is not only creating awareness—she’s building legacy.
